Field Service Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform competent break‑fix and preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation to determine root causes, dismantling equipment to access and remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, and troubleshooting electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
• Identify parts, supplies and repair items necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Perform maintenance with minimal instruction, following industry standards.
• Create and maintain work records in service reports and applicable management systems.
• Set up and operate multiple machining operations (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools) to manufacture and repair parts; may perform welding tasks.
• Conform to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
• Perform routine processes with industrial control systems to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex equipment problems.
• Apply electrical, mechanical, and fluid power knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Complete on‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development.
• Follow all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines, maintaining situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

  • Associate’s degree with a technical focus and 5 years of related experience in a specific industry,
    or
  • 7 years of experience in the specific industry.

Standing, walking, using hands/fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or descending to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in confined spaces, and speaking or hearing are regularly required. The employee occasionally sits and may lift or move more than 50 pounds. Close vision and color vision are frequently required.

Work may involve exposure to outside weather, electrical shock, hazardous materials, greasy or slippery surfaces, and a loud factory environment.
