Position Summary:
The Sr. Media Specialist will plan, strategize, and buy all media, manage growing account management roles, and engage in client-facing activities. Responsibilities include strategy research, planning, negotiation, purchase and placement of media for existing clients across traditional, OTT/CTV, streaming audio/video, digital and site direct. The role also involves training and advising media coordinators and specialists, direct day-to-day management, and workflow/deliverable execution for each account.
Chicago media knowledge, particularly local TV, is preferred. This position is exempt under FLSA.
- Acts as liaison between media vendors, the client, and the agency, including direct client communication.
- Keeps a pulse on new and emerging media, providing fresh ideas to grow clients’ business.
- Delivers strategic reporting to internal and external clients.
- Manages client communications and presentations for growth accounts.
- Gathers, organizes and presents competitive and industry research; prepares market analysis.
- Determines best use of multi-platform media mix to meet client goals and objectives.
- Participates in client meetings for media plan presentations and strategizing sessions.
- Manages day-to-day tasks for stewarding client-approved media plans.
- Maintains positive client relationships.
- Has in-depth knowledge of Video, Print, Audio and OOH media.
- Understands TV/Radio ratings estimates and digital performance metrics/KPIs.
- Avails media and negotiates rates, CPMs/CPPs, time parameters, sponsor ships and promotions, and bonus impressions.
- Builds Radio & TV schedules and compiles digital planning documents.
- Manages media execution projects, asset tracking, process control, and quality assurance.
- Analyzes post-buys and works with stations to adjust under-delivery or weight/impressions.
- Works with internal teams to develop monthly performance reports and optimize strategy.
- Collaborates with AMs and Directors to develop team members and identify growth opportunities.
- Provides active feedback on account teams and resolves billing discrepancies as needed.
- Injects energy and new ideas into the overall media strategy.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with media buying software;
Strata a plus - Experience with digital ad servers
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience pulling media research from various sources
- Experience building target audiences and implementing social media campaigns
- Ability to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and communication skills
This is a full-time opportunity based out of Chicago, IL
