Position Summary
The Consumer and Shopper Insights Sr. Manager for Private Label will be part of the North America regional team. This role will lead the insights agenda for North America Private Label business – partnering with regional stakeholders to support the consumer and shopper insights projects aligned to our Private Label retail priorities. The North America region consists of USA and Canada.
This is an exciting role partnering with marketing, sales, and innovation teams, to be part of our journey to co-create insight-led consumer solutions with strategic retail customers. You’ll get exposure to a wide variety of category, product, shopper, customer, and consumer challenges as we set out to ensure we are truly customer and consumer led.
- Lead the Consumer and Shopper Insights agenda for North America CPG partnering with the North America Marketing, Innovation and Sales VP’s to build strategies and plans for our Private Label customers in the region that are based on strong insights.
- Leverage Point-of-Sale data to better understand the retail, shoppers, categories, consumers, and competitive environments to identify future challenges or opportunities to explore.
- Lead the consumer and shopper monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the region and research framework/requirements to address Private Label retail customers key business questions and be the insights partner for external customer presentations.
- Lead, disseminate, and present regular Insights reporting updates to internal (& where relevant external) stakeholders to ensure insights are at the heart of decision making.
- Bachelor’s degree ideally in business, market research, marketing, psychology, mathematics, statistics.
- Language skills:
English - A minimum of 8 years of experience in insights/market research/shopper roles, including but not limited to deep consumer research, shopper research, foresight and planning, data analytic and project management responsibilities.
- Past experience in a research role within the Food Retail/Food Ingredients/FMCG/Retail/Food service/Private Label industry is ideal.
- Expert in qualitative and quantitative consumer and shopper research experience and breadth of methodologies used; shopper path to purchase, shopper missions
- Expert with external data and research platforms such as Nielsen, IRI/Circana
- Strong MS Office systems proficiency e.g. PowerPoint, Excel
- Resourceful and possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to story-tell and influence with impact both internally and externally.
- Excellent inter-personal and collaboration skills across teams, functions and markets.
- Design sense for highly visual and data driven storytelling.
- Adaptable and open to change and innovation, including AI integration
- Is driven, curious and open in style
- Is a self-starter and has a roll up the sleeves and get it done mindset.
