Emerald Design Works is looking for a Business Development & Marketing Specialist to keep our business development engine running smoothly. You’ll equip our business development and partnership leaders with the content, tools, and processes they need, serve as our Hub Spot administrator, manage every MSA and SOW through signature, and coordinate all marketing, including our third-party marketing partners.
This is an on-site role based in our River North office in Chicago or our downtown Greensboro, NC office, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and directly supporting the Director of Strategic Partnerships.
What You’ll OwnAs our Business Development & Marketing Specialist, you’ll work hands-on across business development, marketing, and operations as part of an intentionally small team.
You will:
- Support the CEO and the Director of Strategic Partnerships with research, meeting prep, and follow-up on prospects and partners
- Prepare proposals, presentations, pitch decks, and tailored materials for client and partner pursuits
- Track pipeline and partnership activity, keep next steps moving, and flag opportunities that need attention
- Create and maintain collateral (case studies, proposals, one-pagers, and email templates) in an organized Hub Spot content library, keeping messaging and positioning consistent across sales and marketing
- Document and refine the business development process, qualification criteria, and pipeline stages, and train new interior designers on how we win work and their role in it
- Serve as the Hub Spot administrator: users, permissions, properties, pipelines, workflows, and integrations
- Keep CRM data clean and complete, set standards for how deals, contacts, and activities are logged, and train the team on Hub Spot
- Build dashboards and reports on pipeline, win rates, and marketing results, and report findings to leadership
- Manage all Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and Procurement Proposals from draft to fully executed, checking every document for accuracy in scope, pricing, terms, dates, and client details
- Track signatures, follow up on outstanding agreements, and keep an organized contract record
- Coordinate all marketing activity through a shared marketing calendar, including the e-newsletter, social media, website updates, and conferences and events from registration and logistics to booth materials and follow-up
- Coordinate with third-party marketing partners on scope, timelines, deliverables, and budget
- And because we’re an intentionally small team, you’ll step in where needed to keep the business development engine moving
- 3+ years in sales enablement, business development support, sales or marketing operations, or B2B sales
- Experience creating proposals, presentations, or sales content that helped win business
- Strong writing and presentation skills; you can turn complex offerings into clear, persuasive material
- CRM (ideally Hub Spot) administration experience, including workflows, pipelines, reporting, and data management
- Experience coordinating marketing, including newsletters, social media, events, and website updates, and comfort managing outside agencies and partners
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially with contracts such as MSAs and SOWs; organized and able to juggle several priorities at once
- Experience in design, creative, or professional services, or supporting strategic partnerships or channel programs, is a plus
- Basic design skills (Canva, PowerPoint, Figma) and familiarity with e-signature and contract tools such as Docu Sign or Panda Doc are a plus
We’re building a national commercial interiors company around one idea: exceptional design deserves exceptional delivery.
