Volunteer Communications Specialist – Donor Advised Fund Strategy

Job Description

Ashoka seeks a highly skilled Presentation & Communications Specialist to transform complex ideas into simple, powerful narratives—visually and strategically. Experience in finance, philanthropy, or social impact is especially valuable.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape presentation decks, donor-facing briefs, and strategic communications that articulate Ashoka’s DAF strategy, funding opportunities, and impact.
  • Design high-quality presentations for DAF holders, philanthropic advisors, foundations, and wealth‑management partners.
  • Translate strategy into compelling storytelling—distilling Ashoka’s DAF approach, impact frameworks, funding pathways, and case studies.
  • Create polished decks that reflect Ashoka’s brand, clarity, visual cohesion, and narrative strength.
  • Refine messaging for donor cultivation and stewardship in partnership with the E2/Strategic Entrepreneurship team.
  • Develop communication assets including one‑pagers, donor memos, visual frameworks, and briefing documents.
  • Conduct light research on DAF trends, philanthropic priorities, and donor segmentation.
  • Maintain an asset library of templates, visuals, data points, and storytelling elements.
  • Ensure confidentiality and discretion when handling donor information.

Volunteer Logistics
  • Estimated hours: 5–10 per week.
  • Duration: 1–3 months.
  • Position is virtual/remote.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience designing professional presentations (Canva, Google Slides, Keynote preferred).
  • Exceptional ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, visually engaging narratives. Excellent writing and editing skills; able to adopt Ashoka’s tone of voice.
  • Understanding of—or strong willingness to learn about—Donor Advised Funds, philanthropic trends, and high‑net‑worth donor engagement.
  • Ability to work independently, respond promptly, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Experience in social impact, philanthropy, consulting, communications, or design highly desirable.
  • High professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail.
