SummaryUnder the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVL) provides nursing care within the scope of licensure for assigned patients according to established nursing standards and hospital policies and procedures.
Essential Functions- Administer medication, perform treatments, and provide patient care responsibilities as prescribed.
- Consult with and keep the Registered Nurse informed of activities, symptoms, reactions, and changes in the patient's condition.
- Provide appropriate pain‑management techniques and educate the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration within scope of practice.
- Assist with the rehabilitation and treatment of patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, updating and revising the plan under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments and special procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
- Interact professionally with patients/families and involve them in the formation of the care plan.
- Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
- Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families, communicating with Social Services/Discharge Planner about in‑hospital and post‑discharge needs.

Qualifications Education- Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses.
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License.
- BCLS Certification.
- Intravenous Blood Certification preferred.
- Minimum six months prior experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Pay Range: $25.00 – $37.50 per hour
