Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) division is a four-surgeon team providing surgical care for patients with complex gynecological needs. This APP will:

• See new and established patients (e.g. post-op, follow-up, pre-op counseling, initial evaluation)
• Perform minor office procedures (e.g endometrial biopsies)
• Triage and co-manage surgical candidates with the surgeons
• Provide access for urgent or time-sensitive visits
• Coordinate pre-surgical testing and patient education
• Occasionally assist in the OR (Physician Assistant or acute care certified APRNs with first-assist certification)
• Report to the Department of Obstetrics and Lead APP

• The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University Medical Center takes a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to care. Our team includes generalists, OB hospitalists and subspecialists in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, maternal fetal medicine, complex family planning, alongside advanced practice provider.
• Faculty actively involved in resident and fellow education (OB/ GYN residency program of 24 residents and complex family planning fellows)
• The MIGS Division includes four surgeons with expertise in advanced laparoscopy, robotics and innovative surgical techniques
• The MIGS Division works in close collaboration with colleagues in interventional radiology, anesthesiology, pain management, pelvic medicine and rehabilitation and others

• Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Gynecology, surgery or other related specialty is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.
• APRN candidates must be acute care certified

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.

The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
