Unit Secretary - Inpatient Acute Rehab

Days, 7:30am-7:30pm, 12‑hour shifts

• Accountable to the Director/Manager and, indirectly, to the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor.
• Perform indirect care duties in the department setting and facilitate communication needs.
• Transcribe physician orders from records in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation systems, with notation and signature by nursing staff.
• Prepare and comply records on the Emergency Room.
• Order supplies for the unit and prepare and complete each patient’s chart for necessary forms needed daily.
• Assist nursing staff for duties involving indirect patient care.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience required.
• BLS certification (ARC or AHA) within 30 days and maintain current.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician’s practice preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.60 to $23.84.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
