Job DescriptionThe Nurse Clinician works in a multidisciplinary environment that requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, and administrative units.
Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Provide pre-attending care, performing comprehensive assessments of chief complaints, and documenting all nursing assessments.
- Perform routine nursing duties independently, including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital sign measurements, and lab specimen preparation.
- Interpret abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, and take remedial action while documenting interventions.
- Communicate and collaborate with clinical and administrative departments and outside agencies as needed.
- Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
- Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organization protocols, operating emergency equipment.
- Serve as a resource for staff and physicians, delegating tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
- Comply with all patient care policies and recommend improvements to management.
- Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring patient understanding and demonstrating return demonstration.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- State Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
- Certification in Basic CPR.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (may be required for certain positions).
