REGISTERED NURSE - OPERATING ROOM
Join Insight Health Systems as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. Full‑time, 8‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday (7 a.m.‑3:30 p.m.) with a 24‑hour on‑call schedule shared among OR team members.
Pay RangeBase pay: $30.00/hr – $43.00/hr sign‑on bonus available. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Responsibilities- Uses the nursing process, critical thinking skills, and professional judgment to provide care for an assigned population of patients.
- Assesses patient needs and determines care requirements.
- Plans care and delegates tasks to ancillary personnel based on patient assessment.
- Evaluates patient response to care and adjusts care plans as needed.
- Promotes patient/family independence through education related to the patient’s condition, treatment, medications, and ongoing self‑care.
- Maintains Level I status through ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrates awareness of organizational values, mission, and philosophy in all interactions.
- Documents nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and other required documentation.
- Completes unit orientation, mandatory in‑service requirements, and at least 8 hours of continuing education within the last year specific to daily clinical practice.
- Participates in discharge planning, collaborates with multidisciplinary team, and ensures quality of care through regulatory compliance.
- Uses supplies efficiently and works with management to adjust unit supply levels.
- Other duties related to patient care and unit operations as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN License in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification; ACLS preferred and required within the first year for certain specialties.
- Relevant certifications (PALS, NRP, etc.) as required by specialty.
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition quickly.
- Knowledge of patient growth and development needs.
- Accurate and detail‑oriented work performance.
- 3 years of OR nursing experience, including spine, orthopedics, and robotic surgery.
- Variable hours availability.
- Good knowledge of inventory and supplies in the operating room.
