Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Join Insight Health Systems in delivering world‑class care on the Emergency Department. Our mission is to provide compassionate, expert, and impactful care to all patients.
PayBase pay range: $32.00/hr - $58.00/hr
Night shift differential available. $37-60/hour for qualifying shifts.
In person at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago.
Responsibilities- Use the nursing process, critical thinking skills, professional judgment, and the attributes of Careful Nursing to provide care for an assigned population of patients.
- Assess patient needs to determine care requirements.
- Plan care and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel based on patient assessment.
- Evaluate patient response to care and modify the plan as needed.
- Promote patient/family independence through education related to condition, treatment, medications, and ongoing self‑care.
- Participate in the professional advancement system and meet Level I requirements, including critical thinking, problem‑solving, and completion of unit‑specific competencies.
- Complete at least 16 hours of continuing education and mandatory in‑service requirements within the last year.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and facilitate discharge planning and patient education.
- For Level II nurses: demonstrate three of the following six criteria – charge nurse function, committee participation, in‑service education, peer mentorship, professional membership, community outreach.
- Coordinate discharge planning, communicating needs with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure high quality of care by complying with regulatory standards, current research, and quality monitoring processes.
- Use supplies cost‑effectively and collaborate on unit supply level adjustments.
- Additional duties: ensure comprehensive patient care, foster safety and comfort, and perform other assigned responsibilities related to patient care and unit operations.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification (required).
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Ability to work variable hours, including night, day, and rotating shifts.
