Hartgrove Behavioral Health System consists of a 160-bed acute care, crisis stabilization, for-profit psychiatric hospital, treating children as young as 3 through older adults, within 8 different inpatient programs. We have one of the largest pediatric psychiatric programs in the state of Illinois and are most proud to be the first and currently only hospital in the country to have received the Joint Commission’s Disease Specific Certification designations for Neuropsychiatry and Trauma Services.
We also received our second award as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures from The Joint Commission.
Hartgrove offers inpatient services for patients needing Acute Stabilization Programs (externalizing behaviors/disorders) and Recovery Programs (internalizing behaviors/disorders), along with a continuum of care which includes stand‑alone Partial Hospitalization Programs for children and adolescents, Intensive Outpatient Programs for adolescents and adults, traditional OP clinics, extensive School‑based Services, and Telehealth Services. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Nurse Manager provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager assumes 24 Hour responsibility for his/her unit to ensure quality care of services are provided to patients. Ensure provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, and evaluates the effectiveness of the program to meet patient needs. Actively participates in the multidisciplinary treatment plan meetings for patients to coordinate plan of care for each patient.

QualificationsJOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Clinical Nurse Manager must demonstrate flexibility and the knowledge and skills required to manage unit providing care to the population served which includes either children, adolescents, pre adolescents or adults.
Education: Graduate of a nursing program. BSN required/MSN preferred.
Experience: Three years clinical experience in psychiatric nursing and 2 years in management preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience or special training in the treatment of the special age/population served by the specific units or programs for which he/she is hired.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Knowledge: Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
