Salary:
The previously determined range for this position was $36.08/hr to $80.98/hr final rate offered will be determined by the collective bargaining agreement, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a rate at or near the top of the full range for a position.
This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date. (RNs only)

Position Summary
The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and takes the initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice, Relationship Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence into clinical practice. This position integrates professional practice model, current standards of practice, and clinical experience to provide "quality" patient care as measured by established nursing quality standards and other governing/accrediting health care bodies.
The Staff Nurse I engages and obtains information from patient and/or family to advocate for the patient, develops an appropriate patient educational plan, and responds to patient's changing needs while sharing information and collaborating with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care. The Staff Nurse I participates in organizational, departmental, and shared leadership activities; supports department and unit goals in daily behavior.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Completes required orientation program and unit-specific competencies.
- Verifies and implements orders from physician, physician assistant, and/or advance practice nurse by performing interventions as prescribed by the provider and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Administers infusion treatments as indicated (e.g., biologics, immunoglobulin, iron infusions, hydration, bisphosphonates, blood products).
- Performs venipuncture, access and de-access central venous access devices, and maintain vascular access per guidelines.
- Monitors patients before, during, and after infusion for side effects or complications; initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
- Conducts thorough assessments, document findings, and communicate effectively with providers regarding patient status.
- Educates patients and families on medications, infusion processes, side effect management, and self-care.
- Assists in coordination of care, including scheduling, pre-authorization support, and communication with referring providers.
- Contributes to quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and departmental goals.
