Registered Nurse Responsibilities

The RN provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the hospital’s philosophy and objectives. The RN also prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities each shift and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

The RN is authorized to initiate restraints or seclusion and assess continuation.

Qualifications
  • Current license to practice nursing in Illinois (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
