Staff Nurse; RN Emergency Department

The Staff Nurse role in the Adult Emergency Department involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, diverse environment. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and adjusting care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. The nurse manages all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, incorporating discharge planning and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Qualifications include a graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing school, an active Illinois RN license, BLS certification, and enrollment in or completion of SANE certification. A BSN or higher degree is preferred, with ADN nurses required to pursue a BSN within specified timelines.

Preferred experience in emergency care is highly valued. The position is full-time, primarily daytime hours, requiring every other weekend. Candidates must be based in the greater Chicagoland area and committed to on-site work.
