American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Medical Surgical unit within a Level I Trauma Center hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, no block scheduling
- Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
- No on-call requirements
- Mandatory float facility; may float to other units within scope or outside primary competency with team-based support
- May be required to float to other Cook facilities within 50 miles, with as little as 2 hours notice
- Cerner EMR used for charting
- Active IL RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Two professional references required, from most recent employers, one per employer
- Proof of COVID vaccination required, booster not required
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
- Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Perform respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care
- Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE use
- RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends
- No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Returning resources must undergo full recredentialing and orientation, even after short breaks in contract
- Local candidates accepted and preferred within 75 miles of the facility, at a reduced bill rate
- First-time travelers not accepted for this role
