American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and an active IL RN license at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Medical Surgical unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Mandatory float facility; all clinicians may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including mid-shift floats
• May be required to float to other facilities within 50 miles, with notice as short as 2 hours prior to shift start
• Uses Cerner charting system

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Two professional references required from supervisors within the past 2 years, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exceptions

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg patient population including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Team-based care model utilized when clinicians are floated outside their primary competency
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on weekends
• No holiday RTO permitted, including the day before or after a holiday
• Contract subject to cancellation for holiday call-outs
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Returning candidates must complete full recredentialing and orientation regardless of break length
• First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
