Eye Care for Animals – Chicago is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. The position supports both a strong local community feel and the national resources of Thrive.

• Provide comprehensive care throughout pets’ lives, including outpatient treatments and laboratory tests.
• Assist in surgery, monitoring anesthesia and working with monitoring equipment.
• Support services such as admitting and discharging patients.
• Create and present financial options and estimates to clients.
• Accurately enter service charges into the client processing database.

• Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required.
• CVT preferred, but not required; CVT eligible.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
• Proficient in surgery monitoring anesthesia and equipment.
• Team player, eager to learn, self‑motivated, enjoys fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.).

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate $24‑28/hr.
