Job SummaryThe Director of Quality Control leads the organization’s quality control program with strategic oversight, ensuring all construction projects meet or exceed contractual, regulatory, and company standards. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the organization’s reputation for excellence through robust quality management systems, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Director of Quality Control partners closely with project management, field operations, and executive leadership to drive consistency, reduce rework, and ensure delivery of superior results across all project types, including federal and healthcare construction.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s Quality Control Program and procedures to ensure alignment with corporate goals and client expectations.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance standards in accordance with contract documents, applicable codes, and industry best practices (e.g., USACE CQM, ISO 9001).
- Lead quality planning and documentation for federal projects, including QC Plans, Submittal Logs, Deficiency Logs, and Three-Phase Control process documentation.
Oversee pre-construction reviews, material inspections, testing programs, and system commissioning verification. - Conduct regular field audits, inspections, and quality assessments to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and deliver training programs for project teams and subcontractors to ensure quality expectations and procedures are clearly understood and executed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related issues on federal and healthcare projects, coordinating with clients, third-party inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and Project Management to ensure that quality, schedule, and safety standards are integrated seamlessly.
- Analyze and report on quality performance metrics, including nonconformance rates, rework costs, and inspection results.
- Lead root cause analyses and corrective action initiatives for recurring deficiencies.
- Implement and maintain quality control software systems for documentation, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
