Life Spice Ingredients, a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial, international food company, has an opening for an R&D Mass Spectrometry Technician with experience operating a Gas Chromatography‑Mass Spectrometer in our Chicago River North location. The office is steps away from the CTA Brown/Purple line and easily accessible from all parts of Chicagoland.

• Design and execute food testing utilizing various analytical instruments including GC‑Mass Spectrometer.
• Operate and maintain the lab where GC‑MS and other analytical equipment are located.
• Communicate and educate co‑workers who do not have an analytical background.
• Establish and maintain a library of reference spectra.
• Make recommendations for new analytical methods and testing equipment.
• Work as part of a team and think big picture.
• Perform other analytical tests and support the R&D and Quality Departments as needed.

• Required knowledge and relevant working experience (hands‑on) with GC‑Mass Spectrometer.
• Operate and obtain actionable data from GC‑MS testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a focus in Analytical Testing.
• Background and experience in food, flavor analysis is preferred.
• Ability to create reports and communicate findings.
• 3+ years of hands‑on analytical experience.
