SummaryThe Research Assistant is paid part‑time under the supervision of Dr. David Mallinson, PhD, and supports a study evaluating Family Connects Chicago, a universal nurse home‑visiting program. Responsibilities include analyzing quantitative data, presenting findings, conducting literature reviews, drafting and revising manuscript sections, and co‑authoring study papers.
Responsibilities- Recruit, screen, and schedule potential study participants.
- Write and create assessments following standard research protocols.
- Assist in grant proposal writing and communications with researchers.
- Arrange and conduct experiments, including explaining study goals and evaluating outcomes.
- Follow up with participants and research colleagues via phone and email.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to disseminate study findings.
- Analyze data, draft reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Maintain study procedure documentation, records, and inventories.
- Assist with data entry, cleaning, and guided analysis.
- Monitor experiments, troubleshoot field issues, and resolve unplanned events with discretion.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Entry‑level proficiency in Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and databases).
- Detail oriented with high attention to accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop rapport with a diverse pool of research participants.
- Ability to navigate sensitive topics and maintain confidentiality of participants.
- Ability to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team setting.
- May require 6‑8 weeks of training depending on study protocols.
- Availability to work evenings, overnight, and weekends if called for under the study protocols.
- May require personal transportation to field location.
