Pay Range$50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
Department and SummaryThe Section of Rheumatology is a dynamic and growing enterprise of approximately forty faculty, staff, and fellows dedicated to outstanding patient care, research into the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, and training the next generation of physicians and scientists. The research team uses high‑dimensional imaging of human tissue and advanced AI analytics to understand immune states in autoimmune and other kidney diseases.
Job SummaryThe Research Technologist will become proficient in immunofluorescent staining, confocal microscopy, and image pre‑processing for AI‑driven analytics. The role reports directly to a senior technician, participates in weekly working and laboratory meetings, and performs research‑related duties essential to laboratory efficiency.
Responsibilities- Collect and maintain data and/or specimens for high‑dimensional imaging.
- Maintain equipment, including confocal microscopes and related supplies.
- Set up and perform experiments, interact with students and laboratory staff under investigator direction.
- Assist in developing or amending study protocols and data collection tools; build databases; provide general administrative support.
- Analyze and maintain data, conduct literature reviews, and assist in preparing reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
- Perform other related work as needed.
- Minimum:
College or university degree in a related field. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted.
- Less than 2 years of related work experience.
- Experience with microscopy.
- Knowledge of research techniques such as tissue sectioning, antibody conjugation, immunofluorescent staining, H&E staining, and microscope imaging.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
