Staff Scientist – University of Chicago

We invite applications for the Staff Scientist position within the BSD NRB – Cohen Lab at the University of Chicago.

Pay Range: $70,000.00–$90,000.00 per year.

Department: BSD NRB – Cohen Lab

Job Summary: This role facilitates and promotes a research project or contributes to the scientific direction of a research resource, receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis.
• Contribute to facilitating and promoting a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
• Review laboratory protocols and train on new techniques.
• Manage complex data sets for research.
• Lead contributions to scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.
• Train new laboratory personnel.
• Perform other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in a related field.
• Knowledge and skills developed through 2–5 years of work experience in a related discipline.

  Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.
