The Northeast Gas Association (NGA), formally established in 2003 with origins dating back to the 1920s, is a natural gas trade associationthat supports more than 35 local natural gas distribution companies, which collectively serve over 14 million customers across the northeast states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. NGA’s membership includes distribution companies, transmission companies, liquefied natural gas companies, and more than 300 associate member companies.

NGA is also the parent organization of NYSEARCH, an R&D organization which has served a consortium of natural gas LDCs for over 30 years. The Northeast Gas Association (NGA) and NYSEARCH are seeking a motivated, technically strong Project Manager to join the NYSEARCH Research, Development, and Deployment (RD&D) team. The Project Manager (PM) is a full-time position that reports to the Director, RD&D Program Management. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovative research and technology development initiatives that address real-world challenges facing the natural gas industry.

The PM will independently manage multiple research initiatives at various stages of completion, from concept to commercialization. This position requires a high level of independence, self-motivation, and critical thinking to proactively drive process, troubleshoot challenges, and deliver value to both internal and external stakeholders. The PM must balance multiple priorities, manage complex technical and contractual interfaces, and serve as a primary liaison among utilities, research partners, and vendors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong engineering judgment, initiative, and the ability to make informed decisions in complex and evolving technical environments. This position requires someone who takes ownership of their work, proactively addresses challenges, and consistently drive projects toward meaningful results.
