SHIFT SUPERVISOR (FULL TIME) – Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services

Location:

Illinois Institute of Technology – 3249 South Federal Street, Chicago, IL 60616. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time. Days and hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Pay: $29.50 per hour.

Requirement:
Previous catering experience preferred.

Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure are maintained.

• Provide training and create work schedules.
• Evaluate performance of workers, reward high performers, and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Act as contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff.

However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year‑round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
