Shift Leader

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the management team in overseeing restaurant operations and personnel during an assigned shift. The role includes ensuring that the company’s standards are met in accordance with recipes, procedures, quality, and timeliness, while taking care of the guest experience.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Supervise employees during scheduled shifts.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑maintained restaurant environment.
  • Resolve guest concerns.
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures.
  • Build morale through personal and professional growth; mentor staff to uphold the highest standards of service and systems.
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared according to standards and recipes; maintain cost control and product quality.
  • Create exceptional guest service experiences.
  • Achieve financial results through effective systems and standards.
  • Monitor financial metrics, focusing on sales, COG, labor, and operating expenses.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
Education and Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance is required.
  • Successful completion of required training, checklists, and quizzes, including annual re‑certification.
  • NRA Serv Safe food and alcohol certifications preferred.
Experience
  • 2 years of restaurant or equivalent experience is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrated time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Strong internal motivation, detail orientation, and a passion for the brand and teaching others.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and integrate new ideas and concepts into daily work.
  • Effective communication with team members, guests, vendors, etc.
  • Superior guest service, communication, and listening skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Availability to work a minimum of three shift‑leader shifts per period, with a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, alcohol safety, security systems, and computer operations preferred.
