Store Clerk (Part‑Time) – Inner-city Muslim Action Network

This part‑time Store Clerk position supports all store operations and represents the organization with courtesy, friendliness, and efficiency. The role requires support of the Go Green Community Fresh Markets core values, promotion of store programs and initiatives, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.

• Stocking – perform general stocking duties daily, including storing and stocking products in bins, pallets, shelves, racks, and refrigerators.
• Move, handle, and transport finished products, materials or supplies using hand jacks, carts, and other transportation means.
• Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products.
• Replenish stock and goods on display shelves.
• Rotate products and goods; remove expired products from display.
• Ensure shelves are clean and neat.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and encourage colleagues to do the same.
• Courtesy Clerk – answer customer questions and concerns, follow‑up with appropriate personnel, ensure customer satisfaction, maintain knowledge of sales and promotions, use conflict‑resolution skills to de‑escalate complaints, communicate with staff to keep the store free of hazardous spills, assist customers with bags, help navigate, keep work area clean, organized, free of hazards, keep front & parking lot clean and clutter‑free, and perform other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Cashiering – operate cash register accurately, scan products, answer customer questions, follow‑up with appropriate personnel, change register tape and ribbons, redeem promotional coupons, receive cash, checks, and EBT/EFT transactions, count change accurately, issue receipts, ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal guidelines regarding WIC and EBT, accurately track and document Link Match distribution and redemption.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience as a storekeeper, inventory clerk, cashier, or similar role.
• Experience managing stock, handling deliveries, ensuring proper storage of goods.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Basic math skills for stock counting, price calculations, and report generation.
• Working knowledge of natural, organic, vegetarian and other specialty products/supplies within the grocery retail field is a plus.

• Cash Handling and Accuracy – operating cash registers, processing payments, making change accurately, balancing cash drawers at shift end.
• Attention to Detail – accurate stock management, checking for discrepancies, verifying prices, handling inventory records with care.
• Inventory Management – knowledge of inventory systems to track stock levels, restock shelves, maintain organized records.
• Time Management – efficiently manage time during busy shifts, handling transactions, restocking, and addressing customer needs promptly.
• Organizational Skills – maintain an orderly store layout, manage product displays, keep shelves tidy and well‑stocked.
