Associate Surgical Account Manager / Surgical Account Manager – Chicago
Johnson & Johnson Med Tech is looking for an Associate Surgical Account Manager / Surgical Account Manager to join our Cardiovascular team in Chicago, IL (and potentially Milwaukee, WI). This field‑based role supports cardiac surgeons and heart failure cardiologists across the United States.

We are expanding our commercial team to support Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Failure Cardiologists. You will work closely with our cardiology sales and clinical team to drive growth across the designated territory, primarily using the Impella® product portfolio.
Responsibilities- Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella 5.5 (left‑sided treatment)
- Manage EXCEL sites and clinicals on new Surgery, Heart Failure, ECMO technologies
- Collaborate within the region to achieve quarter‑over‑quarter growth
- Drive excitement and vision of heart recovery solutions with existing devices and future technologies
- Serve as the main point of contact for Cardiac Surgeons, Heart Failure Cardiologists, and the “Heart Team” (including Interventional Cardiologists, Intensivists, & Perfusionists)
- Staff major conferences: HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, and ISHLT
- Organize local heart‑failure symposiums
- Build surgical vertical in established Impella programs – full product portfolio
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Associate Account Manager level: Minimum 5+ years of experience in cardiac surgery and/or combined cardiology medical device clinical or sales, proven track record selling in the operating room, leading and motivating teams to achieve quotas, strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy, established relationships with Cardiac Surgeons, and ability to travel 50‑75% overnight.
- Surgical Account Manager level: Minimum 10+ years of experience in cardiac surgery and/or combined cardiology medical device sales, proven track record of technology adoption and market development, direct patient support experience, ability to drive patient outcomes, and compliance with state and federal medical device regulations.

- Time off: up to 120 hours vacation per calendar year, up to 40 hours sick time per calendar year (56 hours in Washington), up to 13 days holiday pay including floating holidays, up to 40 hours personal and family time per calendar year.
- Eligible for a car allowance via the Company’s Fleet program.
Base pay range: $67,000 – $108,100. Eligible for a highly competitive sales incentive compensation program.
