The Sales Specialist plays an integral part in the success of both the sales team and the hotel. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, highly organized, motivated, and self-starter who thinks outside of the box to provide creative solutions to all aspects of their job.

The Sales Specialist is a jack-of-all-trades, who wears many hats. The primary "half" of the Sales Specialist's responsibility is to plan every site inspection and sometimes execute them on behalf of the sales team. The other "half" of the role is to provide administrative assistance to their assigned managers. The ideal candidate has the ability to prioritize, multitask, and complete projects in a timely manner and this person should demonstrate exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.

Sales Specialist job duties include, but are not limited to:

SITE VISITS:

* Coordinates and assists in the execution of all site visits at the hotel for all sales managers

* Partners with Sales Managers to develop creative aspects of site visit

* Gathers important customer information from the Sales Manager in order to plan appropriately

* Understands the competitor's strengths and weaknesses in order to differentiate the hotel from the competition during the site visit

* Provides expert knowledge on local destinations (e.g., local attractions, events)

* Tracks bookings and leads generated from site visits

* Coordinates and assists in the execution of familiarization tours (FAMs)

SALES ADMINISTRATION TASKS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

* Support the sales team administratively through client communication (phone, email, database)

* Support the sales team in regard to entering leads and updating database information to best communicate correct and complete information

* Answers phones; qualifies incoming inquiry calls and ensures all inquiries are dealt with accurately, timely, and in a professional manner

* Complete or assist with various aspects of the pre-event, main event, and post-event details as assigned by Sales Managers

* Assists Sales Managers with blocking space in event management systems

* Assists Sales Managers with routing paperwork to various departments

* Attends and facilitates pre-planning visits to establish consistent customer communication.

* Provides marketing support, such as creating collateral or proposal templates

* Support assigned Sales Managers in their everyday business needs and act as their backup to ensure tentative bookings and new leads maintain momentum. This could include responding to leads and contacting clients for tentative bookings

* Works with Sales Managers to assist with client follow-up, traces, etc
