Business Development Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Industry: Managed Services Provider (MSP) / IT Services

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new revenue growth for a fast-growing managed services provider. This role is focused on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while building long-term relationships with decision-makers. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional who understands how technology solutions support business outcomes and thrives in a performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Client Acquisition and Growth Identify, prospect, and generate new business opportunities within the SMB and mid-market segments.
  • Lead consultative discovery conversations to understand client challenges and align solutions to business needs.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Market Strategy and Execution Develop an understanding of target industries and buyer personas.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging client needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, events, and outbound initiatives to support pipeline growth.
  • Relationship Management Build trusted relationships with executives, business owners, and IT decision-makers.
  • Partner closely with internal technical and service delivery teams to ensure smooth client transitions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client relationships over time.
  • Performance and Reporting Maintain a healthy and accurate sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Forecast revenue and report on sales activity against defined targets.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Experience 5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience with a strong track record of closing new business.
  • Prior experience in IT services, managed services, SaaS, or technology-driven solutions preferred.
  • Skills Strong consultative selling and discovery skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
  • Attributes Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable in a hunter-style sales role.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Collaborative team player who works well across departments.
  • Technical / Industry Knowledge Familiarity with managed IT services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and infrastructure offerings is a plus.
  • Experience selling to C-level executives, IT leaders, or business owners preferred.
