About: Aura Commodities is seeking a talented Chicago based Meteorologist to join our team providing market leading weather/climate analysis to the Agricultural industry. Job Role: The role will be working alongside our weather team based in London, UK. We are looking for someone who has a passion in analysing and communicating weather/climate risks in connection with agricultural commodities and trading.

The successful candidate’s role will involve daily analysis of historical, current and forecast weather conditions in our focus regions. As well as translating short and long-term forecasts to commodity risks for our customers in routine presentations. Weather report writing and research on crops across different regions globally. There will also be the opportunity to attend industry and client events.

• An undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a relevant science degree:
  Meteorology, Climatology or Environmental Physics.
• Minimum 2 years working within a meteorological environment, preferably within commodities.
• Experience and sound understanding of weather/climate drivers across both short, medium and long time frames.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence in delivering presentations to customers.
• Hold United States Citizenship.
• Understanding of agricultural crop calendars and crop locations of major agricultural crops.
• Ability to speak French or Spanish.
• Experienced in using python to analyse weather datasets or understand software development best practice.
• Based in/near Chicago, but open to locations on a case by case basis.
