S.O.S. Private Security is hiring qualified Full‑time and Part‑time Armed and Unarmed Agents. Preference is given to U.S. Military Veterans, sworn peace officers, and licensed paramedic/firefighters. All agents must obtain licensing through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and must score a minimum of 95% passing score on both the written and shooting aspects of the S.O.S. Private Security Training Course.
Our firearm licensed training program includes shotgun, rifle, revolver and semi‑automatic authorized weaponry. This position is for multiple contracts armed and unarmed. New candidates will work unarmed assignments until they obtain a Firearms Control Card (FCC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people to the property
- Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
- Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
- Provide assistance to people in need
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
- Maintain a uniform and grooming standards
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Tech‑savvy with experience in surveillance systems
- Ability to obtain a PERC card and Firearms Control Card
- High school diploma required
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour (Unarmed)
$20.00 - $35.00+ per hour (Armed). Pay rates are contingent on assignment.
