Role OverviewThe Security Officer supports UI Health Hospital by performing protective services, guarding campus facilities, controlling access, and ensuring safety across various settings including medical and campus buildings.
Responsibilities- Transport and escort high-risk patients; secure valuables.
- Assist with patient restraints and special duty watches.
- Provide standby services for high-risk clients; assist in patient searches.
- Patrol campus, respond to alarms and disturbances, enforce safety policies.
- Respond to emergencies, administer first aid or CPR, manage conflicts.
- Control access, monitor identification, and maintain reports.
- Search for missing persons, control traffic, enforce policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license.
- No felony or moral turpitude convictions.
- State of Illinois PERC card.
- One year security experience in institutional or medical setting.
- Knowledge of security regulations and restraint techniques.
- Emergency response skills, including first aid and CPR.
- Certifications like IAHSS CHPA, Crisis Prevention, or physical agility.
