Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary

If you currently hold an Illinois PERC and FOID card and value professionalism in your work, we want to hear from you. We’re hiring a dependable Armed Security Officer to support a client site in Chicago. This is a steady part-time position offering evening shifts throughout the week, along with the opportunity to serve in an important security role.

Primary Duties

• Conduct foot, vehicle, or bike patrols around interior and exterior areas
• Keep watch for unusual behavior or security concerns and report them promptly
• Respond to incidents according to company protocols and appropriate use-of-force standards
• Prepare thorough written reports and maintain daily activity documentation
• Follow all site instructions, post orders, and client policies
• Provide professional assistance at access points such as lobbies, loading docks, or assigned stations
• Remain knowledgeable about emergency plans relevant to the site

Qualifications

• Active IL PERC card
• Active IL FOID card
• 40‑hour Illinois Armed Security Training Certificate
• Valid gun permit
• Personal firearm, Level II or higher holster, and duty belt
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferably 1–3 years of armed security, military, law enforcement, or customer‑facing experience
• Strong written communication and report‑writing ability
• Reliable transportation for commute
• Must be able to pass a background check

Preferred Skills & Additional Considerations

• Military experience or relevant college coursework
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record (if needed for specific assignments)
• Ability to pass a drug test (if required by location)
