Unarmed Security Officer (Gate Position)

Location: Chicago, IL - South Side

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 6am-2pm

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Requirements:

• TWIC card
• Active IL PERC guard card
• Security experience, preferably gate access
• Valid driver’s license (preferred)
• 20‑hour unarmed security training certificate (preferred)
• Background check and drug test clearance

The Security Officer provides security services at assigned locations, focusing on observation and reporting. Duties include monitoring, reporting suspicious activities, writing detailed narrative reports, maintaining daily activity reports (DAR’s), enforcing post orders, site rules, responding to emergency situations.

• Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and policies, directed by management.
• Conduct walking patrols of assigned areas.
• Identify and report security threats, unsafe conditions, hazards, and emergency situations.
• Perform site‑specific duties (customer service, loss prevention, retail security, lobby reception, elevator security, loading dock security, etc.).
• Write accurate incident reports, notify appropriate personnel per site post orders.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, emergency response procedures, grooming, and customer service standards.
• Participate in required orientation and training programs.
• Respond to incidents in accordance with Post Orders and Use of Force Policy.
• Assist with security, customer service, or support functions as directed.

HS Diploma or GED or H.S. Equivalent

• IL PERC Card
• Driver’s License
• TWIC card
• 20‑hour IL security training certificate
