Job Description

As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within an educational environment, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals on site.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points at the location.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and visitors while on patrol.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of incidents and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Support emergency response activities, including evacuations and/or lockdowns, in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
