The Safety and Security Officer works under the direction of the Supervisor and/or Team Lead for the Safety and Security Department, who reports to the Executive Director of Operations.

The Safety and Security Officer is responsible for securing Church properties and facilities against vandalism and theft, using up-to-date approaches for a professional and safe environment for congregants and visitors. The Officer will interface with Church officers, members, guests, staff, and all other persons who come to participate in the life of this Church and/or conduct business on the premises.

• High School diploma or GED graduate
• 20‑hour Security Certificate, current and valid PERC
• Must pass a background check, physical, and fingerprinting requirements
• Demonstrate ability to work well with others and follow written and oral instructions
• Good command of basic verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
• Physical ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 30 pounds
• Tolerance of extended periods of standing, walking, noise, vibration, stooping, and kneeling
• Normal hearing and vision or correctable vision to normal levels
• Valid driver’s license (plus)

The Safety and Security Officer shall work forty (40) hours each week in accordance with a schedule personally arranged and mutually agreed to with the Manager, Security Services.

This position is susceptible to job hazards; protective clothing must be worn at all times. The position requires unusual or excessive physical exertion.
