Installation Technician

Under the general direction of the Installation Manager, provide complete CNC equipment installation in accordance with plans and specifications. The installed equipment includes Lasers, Punching machines, Bending machines, and various types of automation.

Under the general direction of the Installation Manager, provide complete CNC equipment installation in accordance with plans and specifications. The installed equipment includes Lasers, Punching machines, Bending machines, and various types of automation.

Responsible for installing and maintaining machinery which is used in multiple industries. This job requires carrying out heavy construction work, so the ability to perform physical labor, such as carrying heavy items and operating hand and power tools, is essential. Some jobs also require working in confined areas, so some bending, squatting and stooping may also be necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and understand CAD drawings, and/or TIFF drawings to obtain precise measurements to determine machine placement in the customer's factory.
• Construct foundation for machines.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Give direction to riggers for moving and placing a wide range of equipment, up to 50,000 lbs.
• General knowledge and use of tools, i.e. hammer drill, anchors, wrenches, vise grips, etc.
• Welding experience is helpful.
• Forklift experience is helpful.
• Ability to work and think independently is critical.
• Professional appearance and good customer feedback are critical. Adherence to SOP's and implementation of new procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment.
• Adaptable and can think on your feet; when faced with new challenges or tough conversations, you face them head-on.
• Strong organizational skills and follow through.

Education and/or Experience

• A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Military experience or practical work experience in a similar field will be considered.
• An excellent listener and can also be assertive, persistent, and persuasive.

• Ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment.
• Adaptable and can think on your feet; when faced with new challenges or tough conversations, you face them head-on.

• Fluent in PC use as a development and communications tool. MS Office/Excel/Word skills required.

Frequent US and occasional international travel will be required, up to 100%, including weekends. You must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport. The individual must possess a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check and have the unrestricted ability to obtain rental vehicles.

Mathematical Skills

Strong mathematical skills, including Algebra and Trigonometry.

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Electrical

Competency with Digital Multi-meters. The ability to read and understand electrical schematics is required.

Mechanical

Sound mechanical aptitude is a must. The ability to use common hand tools and read mechanical drawings is required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required. The ability to define and manage expectations is critical. The ability to make sound decisions and actions is required.

Physical Requirements

Candidate must have the ability to lift 75 lbs. without restrictions. Walking distances, transporting tools through the Customer's location is required. Climbing steps and ladders, working in areas offering tight access is frequently required.
