Position Overview

The Interim Support Services Manager is a temporary position (Jan 5, 2026 - June 1, 2026). The role implements the holistic care management model according to the Support Services strategy and ensures that student participants in The Hidden Genius Project’s Intensive Immersion program receive comprehensive services that support successful program retention, completion, and transition.

Pay Range

Base Pay Range: $25.00/hr - $33.00/hr (actual pay will be based on skills and experience)

Position Purpose and Summary

Within The Hidden Genius Project, the Support Services Manager conducts the student and family intake process (including demographic data collection and needs assessment) and works with students and families to develop and manage Individualized Care Plans. The role coordinates care, provides problem‑solving support, facilitates service referrals, and occasionally coordinates workshops on student success themes such as Post‑Secondary Planning, Life Skills, and Planning and Organization.

The Manager collaborates with Programs and Operations staff, serves as a critical contributor to a strengths‑based, culturally responsive holistic care model, and continually demonstrates ingenuity, enthusiasm, ethics, and a deep commitment to learning in a dynamic environment.

Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Mentorship and Positive Student Experience
    • Develop rich one‑to‑one connections with Immersion participants.
    • Identify holistic participant needs as they arise and strategize with staff to address them.
    • Solicit participant and parent/guardian feedback to guide responsive programmatic improvements.
  • Training, Technical Assistance, and Facilitation
    • Train staff and volunteers on human‑service topics, best practices, and methods.
    • Engage external stakeholders to leverage resources and develop partnerships toward meeting youth and family needs.
    • Facilitate training/convenings for adults interested in providing technology education and direct services to youth.
    • Train volunteers to support classroom and Catalyst activities and manage them within those settings.
  • Intake Process Management
    • Oversee distribution and collection of intake documents.
    • Support all cohorts in the intake documentation process.
    • Collaborate with the Support Services team to update documents and utilize e‑signing processes.
  • Support Services Protocol Management
    • Review and update protocols in collaboration with the team.
  • Collaboration with College Access Team
    • Coordinate with the College Access Fellow and Alumni Support Coordinator for outreach, data distribution, and holistic activities.
  • Youth Care Coordinator Management
    • Manage work plans, scheduling, training, and activities of Alumni Youth Care Coordinators to ensure effective caseload coverage.
  • Hidden Genius and Family Event Coordination
    • Oversee coordination of Genius and Family activity events.
  • Coordinate Genius Family Meetings
    • Drive implementation of intake, quarterly, and exit meetings for Geniuses and families.
    • Conduct additional meetings as needed.
  • Support Services Operations
    • Work with staff to collect and input data on youth across all Immersion cohorts into Salesforce.
    • Implement reporting systems for leadership and board members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Serve as an exceptional role model, mentor, and champion to youth and family participants.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all stakeholders, including participants and their parents/guardians.
  • Act as a dynamic ambassador to The Hidden Genius Project within the community.

  • Experience working and communicating effectively with urban, underserved, and/or low‑income youth.
  • Intense commitment to the life success of Black males and boys and men of color.
  • Experience mentoring and working closely with Black male youth.
