Position: Group Facilitator (Part-time)

Group Facilitator (Part-time)

Family Focus invites applications for the Group Facilitator (Part-time) role located in Englewood. This position will support fathers and families as part of our Strong Fathers Strong Families program.

Base pay range: $20.00/hr – $22.00/hr

Location: Family Focus – Englewood
Supervisor: Fatherhood Program Coordinator

Family Focus is a partner in building strong families across the Chicago Metropolitan area, offering emergency assistance, child welfare services, and educational programs. Our goal is to help communities thrive.

As the Fatherhood Group Facilitator, you will provide supportive case management, facilitate skill‑based and support groups, plan father-child enrichment activities, and collaborate with local referral partners and doulas to enact our mission.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate weekly or bi‑weekly group parenting classes using a curriculum tailored for fathers.
  • Lead a Fatherhood Support Group to provide a non-judgmental space for peer support.
  • Offer one‑on‑one coaching to address individual fathers’ needs and goals.
  • Coordinate case management and referrals to services such as job training, housing, or legal aid.
  • Plan father-child activities, including field trips and community events.
  • Provide supplemental services to enhance overall well‑being and stability.
  • Conduct peer mentoring by connecting fathers with experienced mentors.
  • Collaborate with trained doulas to deliver prenatal and postnatal education for fathers.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in a strength‑based environment with fathers and families.
  • Knowledge of families in crisis or trauma‑exposed situations.
  • Expertise in group facilitation.
  • Competency in working with diverse cultures and populations.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to various locations.
  • Understanding of developmental stages and child needs.
  • Basic computer skills: word processing, email, internet research, online timesheet.
  • Flexible schedule; evening and Saturday meetings may be required.

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, 20 hours per week, mainly afternoons.

This is a part‑time, non‑exempt position.
