Partner Abuse Intervention Program Facilitator

To assist in accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army through the coordination of all mission activities, corps and social service, within the City of Chicago.

Provides partner abuse intervention program services to clients within the guidelines of agency policies and procedures. Special functions may be assigned. Develops collaborative partnerships with other Salvation Army units and community partners in order to achieve an integrated model of mission for the program.

Direct Treatment/Case Management:

Provides, within agency policies, programs and procedures, partner abuse intervention program groups.

Maintains frequent case-related contacts with local resources, collateral sources, public and private agencies and organizations, to advocate on behalf of clients. Refers clients for services as needed.

Obtains appropriate Release of Information before a referral is made.

In consultation with the supervisor, initiates contact with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a mandated reporter when child abuse or neglect is suspected.

In Consultation with the supervisor, initiates contact with the Elder Abuse Hotline as a mandated reporter when elder abuse is suspected.

Keeps supervisor informed regarding case related subpoenas and attends court when appropriate.

Keeps supervisor informed of clients in crisis who may be at-risk, and any situation or incident that may require immediate attention, to prevent harm to anyone by following the agency emergency plan in the Policy and Procedures Manual. In a timely fashion, records such contacts, situations or incidents in case notes.

Completes case and statistical recordings, and other required reports and record keeping for assigned clients.

Engages in bi-weekly (additional as needed) professional supervision with designated supervisor.

Must be able to conduct in-person meeting on Tuesday evenings at our Midway Corps.

Maintains awareness of applicable liability issues and other applicable legal issues, and their potential to affect agency and/or clients.

Abides by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics, including NASW standards for cultural competence in social work practice.

In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

Collaborate with other Salvation Army units and personnel to successfully maintain and achieve policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and outcome-based measures related to Hope-Strong.

With supervisor knowledge, participates in professional seminars, conferences and workshops to increase professional knowledge and secure certification.

Remains abreast of new developments in the PAIP field and consults with the supervisor on their effectiveness and relevancy to clients' needs.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A BSW is preferred, but a major in human services is acceptable.

Completed 40-hour domestic violence training or has a plan for completion.
Completed 20-hour partner abuse intervention training or has a plan for completion.
Previous experience in domestic violence work and PAIP/DV groups is preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Knowledge of program components and how to effectively integrate program principles with organizational concepts in order to accomplish mission objectives.
An understanding of the mission of The Salvation Army and the programs and services offered.
A developing knowledge of the domestic violence field, including and understanding of work with victims and perpetrators.
A developing knowledge of how to effectively work with diversity in the workplace.
