Title: Software Engineer II (Ruby) – Internal Tools Team

We’re building a dedicated team focused on improving operational efficiency and quality of life for our internal teams—people who are often overlooked in product-driven organizations. Your work will directly impact critical teams like Trade Desk, Account Opening, Fraud Prevention, and Banking Operations by building custom tools for our proprietary systems and integrating smart third‑party solutions where appropriate.

You'll be part of a small, focused squad working alongside our core brokerage engineering team with a clear mission: reduce friction, improve workflows, and make employees' lives easier.

The work spans custom development, system integration, and data work, with a direct connection between what you build and both employee satisfaction and customer experience.

• Build and maintain Ruby APIs, services, and systems to handle order routing and ledger flows.
• Implement technology improvements to enhance security, reliability, and performance.
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior teammates and contribute meaningfully to peer review.
• Translate requirements and technical direction into production‑quality code with lightweight guidance.
• Work independently on smaller scope tasks and collaborate with senior engineers on larger projects.
• Write comprehensive tests for your code.
• Perform light infrastructure work to support application development where applicable.
• Continue your growth by learning new systems and working toward ownership of tastytrade’s systems.

• Rapidly learn in areas outside your deep expertise.
• Deep expertise in at least one language or framework, previously used in production.

Salary Range: Level II – $146,750 (Actual salary will be based on experience and qualifications)

Discretionary performance bonus: 8–12% of base salary based on performance.
