Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Compensation:
Up to $170,000 Total Compensation + Money Purchase Plan. Base pay range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year. Additional benefits available to hired employees.
About Us:
Join an established medical device OEM in the Greater Chicago Area to serve as a technical lead for new product development across a suite of class II medical devices. We welcome candidates from various regulated industries with strong background in RTOS and UI development. The role is hybrid with a competitive bonus and money purchase.
- Develop embedded software for Class II medical devices
- Collaborate closely with electrical and systems engineers to integrate software with microprocessor-based hardware
- Ensure compliance with requirements management and traceability
- Contribute to design verification, validation, & traceability
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in embedded RTOS & UI development
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex embedded software for medical devices
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
- Demonstrated knowledge of real time operating systems, networking, and serial communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485)
- Strong experience with UI development
- Knowledge and application of global medical device requirements and UL standards preferred
