This position is aligned with First Citizens Bank's Enterprise Payments organization. As a Software Engineer II with a good Java foundation and UI coding experience, you will be part of a team responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining next-generation client-facing Restful APIs, and building React-based UI supporting registration, consent management, payments, and information reporting API applications. The Software Engineer II will be engaged in all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing, and support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop API and UI technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Oversee proactive maintenance on existing UI and API applications within the payments and information reporting space to ensure stability, scalability, and fitness-for-purpose.

• Coordinate troubleshooting of code defects, data errors, and configuration problems to determine the origin of application errors.

• Support business-critical and complex applications.

• Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions.

• Foster a positive developer experience with attention to detail.

• Build elegant, maintainable, well-documented, and secure code.

• Drive continuous learning and go above and beyond.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in software development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience.

• Web development experience with React JS/Angular JS/Polymer JS, NodeJS.

• Strong experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, security protocols like SAML
2.0, OAuth
2.0, and Postman.

• Knowledge of git, unit testing, and mocking frameworks.

• Experience with container architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience working in Agile environments.
