Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining the architecture and technical vision for Supernova’s cloud‑based Security‑Based Lending (SBL) SaaS platform. You will be responsible for designing scalable, high‑performing, and secure systems that support our business services and APIs. This is a strategic and hands‑on role that will directly influence Supernova’s technical roadmap, guiding the development of robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development and maintenance of platform software modules.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define and prioritise requirements and translate them into actionable technical tasks.
• Ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions that adhere to best practices and meet business requirements.
• Review code, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and guidelines.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the overall technical vision and direction.
• Build and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and security of web services and ETL jobs.
• Address technical debt, refactor code as necessary, and drive improvements in the team’s software development processes.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in ETL job and API development, and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• At least five years of software development experience focused on backend development, either in ETL job design and development or Web Service API development.
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot, or comparable expertise in Python and Pandas for backend development.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Lambda development in Python is a plus.
• Experience with Java or Python libraries is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining unit tests and integration tests.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of micro‑services, event‑driven architecture, and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills, capable of both independent work and effective collaboration in a team environment.
