Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior Software Engineer to join our high-performing development team. This role is ideal for a backend engineering expert with deep experience in database technologies and a strong track record of building and supporting data-intensive applications. You will play a critical role in designing scalable, high-performance solutions within our Phoenix system, leveraging a modern tech stack including Python, PySpark, Postgre

SQL, and Airflow.

This is a strategic opportunity to influence architecture, optimize data workflows, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend and data systems.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for data processing and application development.

• Demonstrated expertise in Postgre

SQL, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.

• Experience supporting mission-critical, time-sensitive production environments and client-facing data delivery.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and scalable system design.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Dev Ops practices.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and adapt to evolving technical landscapes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Knowledge of testing frameworks and best practices for unit and integration testing.

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Architect, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for high-volume data processing.

• Lead the design and optimization of relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on Postgre

SQL.

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production data pipelines and backend services.

• Provide hands‑on production support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in time‑sensitive, client delivery.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, QA, Operations, and Design teams to deliver high‑impact solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Apply deep understanding of complex business logic to enhance system capabilities and data workflows.

• Champion best practices in code quality, performance tuning, and maintainability.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development, deployment, and monitoring processes.

This role has a market‑competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range: $76,500 - $130,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance‑based bonus.
