Innova Solutions is hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer – Database & Cloud Migration. The role is a full‑time, 18‑month contract based in Chicago, IL, focused on backend development, data‑intensive systems, and cloud modernization.

• Lead the migration of enterprise applications from Web Logic (Java
8) to Open Shift/Kubernetes.

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.

• Develop and maintain stored procedures, optimize queries, and manage database transactions.

• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.

• Integrate Graph

QL services and, when applicable, AI/LLM integrations for advanced features.

• 8+ years of Java backend development experience.

• Strong database expertise with Oracle or Postgre

SQL.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Open Shift is a plus.

• Prior exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.

• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused mindset.

• Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices
• SQL, database design, stored procedures, query optimisation, transaction management
• Kubernetes & Docker (Open Shift experience preferred)
• CI/CD exposure (Jenkins or similar)

• Graph DB / Graph
  
  QL – experience with schema design, queries, mutations, and backend integration using Java/Spring Boot
• AI/LLM – integration via APIs, exposure to AI‑driven features such as search, recommendations, or automation

• Pay Range: $75 – $85 per hour (based on education, experience, location, duties and certifications)
