ASSISTANT COACH – WOMEN'S SOCCER (PART‑TIME) DALEY COLLEGE

Daley College's Athletic Department is looking for an Assistant Coach for the Women's Soccer Team. This position assists the head coach in organizing the soccer program, conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student‑athletes in game strategies and techniques.

• Assist in recruiting student‑athletes for participation in intercollegiate athletics and cooperate with academic advisers to support their academic progress.
• Help players reach their highest athletic potential through training and leadership skills; counsel and advise students on athletic performance and personal development; prepare athletes for competition by planning and conducting well‑organized practices and contests; direct recruitment of new players, traveling to high‑school and club soccer events.
• Enforce and maintain an athletic program policy that encourages student‑athletes to graduate; work closely with the Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and other administrators to assure academic eligibility.
• Plan and direct training, assess abilities, and determine team positions; conduct in‑season and off‑season conditioning programs, including skills training and weight/conditioning work.
• Ensure compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations; monitor academic, conduct, and physical requirements; maintain accurate records and statistics for reporting to the NJCAA and regional agencies.
• Assist in developing and implementing professional development activities for Athletic Department personnel.
• Enforce the district/college code of conduct; supervise athletes during practice, contests, and travel; may drive college vehicles to contests.
• Communicate contest results to the Sports Information Assistant by 10:00 AM the next business day, providing information for publicity.
• Coordinate care and reporting of incidents and injuries to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare a season summary and advocate recommendations for student honors within conference, region, and governing bodies.

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Physical Education or a related field, with 4–6 years of coaching and/or collegiate/professional playing experience, or equivalent training and experience.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the sport.
• Coaching certification preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification by the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for young adults.
• Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations.

Salary: $3,200–$5,600 stipend per season, determined based on sport and applicant's experience.

Assistant coaches are hired on a season‑by‑season basis. A reasonable effort is made to assure future coaching assignments for those coaches who have had a history of successful academic and athletic team performances at City Colleges of Chicago. All assignments are conditioned on sufficient team membership. Once a season starts, the assistant coach is expected to complete the season.
