Intramurals and Recreation Coordinator

General Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Intramurals and Recreation Coordinator manages and operates the intramural and recreation program in accordance with the purposes and policies of the Keating Sports Center and Illinois Tech Athletic Department. The Intramurals and Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of staff, fiscal operations, program development, marketing/public relations, participant retention, and customer service related to the intramural & recreation programs at Illinois Tech.

Athletics Office

Full Time

Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of professional experience in campus recreation including customer service, recreational programming, sports leagues, human relations required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

Understanding of youth and community sports programming. Must have the ability to work with and/or collaborate with community organizations such as the YMCA, park district, and boys and girls' clubs. Demonstrated skills in sport league coordination. Demonstrated coordination of special events. Demonstrate supervisory skills; demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral; demonstrate ability to create and develop new programs; demonstrate ability to market programs and manage budgets;

and demonstrate working knowledge of ongoing intramural programming.
