The South Side YMCA is hiring part time Fitness Attendants to join the team. This integral position on the Fitness Team could be your first step to building a career in fitness, or the next step in your fitness journey.

Salary

$20.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Develop, motivate and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention to all members and guests using a proactive approach.
  • Be an active marketing resource by discussing and promoting the YMCA fitness programs with our members.
  • Provide basic assistance and guidance to users of the fitness equipment when needed, as you acknowledge all members throughout the facilities.
  • Ensure a safe environment through constant circulation of the fitness and gymnasium facilities and promptly responding to safety and emergency situations.
  • Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations.
Minimum Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push >50 lbs.
  • A passion for and general knowledge of preventative health and fitness programs and philosophy.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment.
Child Abuse Prevention
  • Protect the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention by reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
  • Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
  • Complete all child abuse prevention training, as required.
